If you must consider surrendering your pet to the shelter we ask that you contact us in advance to notify us of when you will be arriving. Please bring any vaccination records with the name and contact information of the veterinarian who last saw your pet. You will be required to fill out an owner release form, which will assist us in finding your pet a new home. We encourage you to bring your pets food, favorite toys or blankets to make the transition less stressful.
We can't guarantee that your pet will be a candidate for adoption. They will need to pass a medical and behavioral evaluation before being deemed adoptable. JCARL has limited space and this will also be considered at the time of surrender.
While we will do our best to give your pet every chance of finding a new home, we suggest that you make every effort to rehome your animal before bringing them to the shelter.
The owner release fee of $40.00/pet is due at the time of surrender.
